Bavarian spa town

Bad Reichenhall

Only 25 km away

Only some 25 km from Hotel “Zum Schweizer”, you can also visit the Bavarian saltworks town of Bad Reichenhall. The spa town is also located in Saalachtal, on the Bavarian-German side, half of the way to Salzburg, the City of Mozart.

The town in Berchtesgadener Land looks back on a settlement history going back 4,000 years, which for the most part is also closely linked with producing salt from brine. Since the mid-1900s, the town is also known as a spa town and holiday destination, since it carries “Bad (Bath) in its name” and in 1899 the town was awarded the distinction of “Royal Bavarian Sanatorium“.

In Bad Reichenhall in the rural district of Berchtesgadener Land, you’ll find a wide range of leisure options, attractions and daytrip destinations.
The old quarter is worth taking a walk through. Here you’ll find centuries-old buildings, witnesses of the former salt production such as the “Old saltworks”, museums, exhibitions, 8 churches in various architectural styles, palaces, the Karlstein castle ruins, St. Pankraz pilgrimage church on Pankrazfelsen Hill and many, many more.

Various parks, such as the “Royal spa garden”, make this town green. In the spa garden there are also regular concerts by the “Bad Reichenhall Philharmonics” – something you should not miss out on.

The “RupertusThermae“ in Bad Reichenhall beckons to relax with various pools, asauna landscape, a wellness zone, a fitness area, afamily bath and a restaurant. A wonderful way of ending your day in Bad Reichenhall.

Bad Reichenhall is worth a visit. History, entertainment and shopping for the whole family.
